Cashel Day-Lewis

Cashel Day-Lewis (b. 2002) is a composer and fiddle player whose music “[combines] a sense of Baroque embellishment and form with polytonal exploration,” (The Washington Classical Review) and has been performed by Oberlin’s Contemporary Music Ensemble, Oberlin Orchestra, and the New York Philharmonic. Day-Lewis has been commissioned by Jasmine Choi and conductor Dongmin Kim with the New York Classical Players, harpsichordist Lillian Gordis, organist Christa Rakich, and Crash Ensemble. They are currently based in New York City, where they are pursuing a Master of Music in Composition at the Juilliard School.
